Last Call for HETMA Virtual Conference: Feb 22-24

The HETMA Virtual Conference starts this Wednesday, February 22, 2023, and runs through Friday, February 24, 2023. This year’s conference is poised to be the most successful yet with the timely theme: “Now What?” and will again feature engaging keynote addresses by the industry’s leading subject matter experts, breakout “solutions sessions,” and the signature “meeting lobby” for networking and community building.

Registration is always FREE to attend and is currently open. Participants can register here: https://events.zoom.us/e/view/0V1-u9F6RheneRb5YT0-zA?id=0V1-u9F6RheneRb5YT0-zA

After three years of focus on the pandemic response, higher education is ready to turn the page into the next stage in classroom support. But what is staying, what is going, and how can technology managers navigate the unique challenges ahead? This year’s focus will be about impacting change. It’s no longer enough to look back at the pandemic, but rather as a vertical we must strategically plan for the future. So now what? What stays? What goes? What does it mean to serve our customers? These are the questions we’ll seek to answer.

Each of the three days will focus on their various initiatives: HETMA Approved Program, PRISM Scholarship, and Online Community, with sessions that build relationship and educate. This year’s conference keynotes include sessions on “Now What for Technology and People”, “Now What for Instructional Design” and “Now What for DEI and Hiring Best Practices.” Break out sessions will focus on the change in control systems, immersive technology, student worker training, work from home, and other pertinent topics. Parallel to the tech manager breakouts include “solutions spotlights” but the industry’s leading manufacturers to navigate the challenges the vertical is currently facing. Just as important to the educational sessions, the HETMA Virtual Conference is known for its “collaborative lobby” where members connect with one another during the breaks over morning coffee, afternoon lunch, and evening happy hours.

HETMA members say they were “virtual before it was cool,” because this fifth conference started pre-pandemic as a virtual offering, vowing to give a fully complimentary conference to anyone who works in higher education. HETMA believes that institutional funding should never be an obstacle to gathering with colleagues and improving their craft. The HETMA Virtual Conference won “2020 Best Virtual Event” in the AV Nation Reader’s Choice Awards. HETMA also just completed the most successful #AVinTheAM Takeover by a third-party organization with other seven million impressions across the Twitter platform.

The HETMA Virtual Conference is unlike any other. Instead of putting out a call for presenters, a select board of members gathers to discuss what issues and solutions the organization and higher ed vertical need to know. The board then reaches out to the leading subject matter experts to fill their panels. It is the only “solutions-first” conference.
